Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold. -2 Corinthians 3:12
The other day as I went to post a verse on Facebook, I found myself wondering what people would think of it. And then I thought, "Well you don't have a huge following anyway, so probably not many people will see it." Followed by, "That's not a very bold thought."
But it's so easy to get sucked into that trap of being timid with our faith, especially when it comes to sharing the hard messages that no one wants to hear (like that we're all sinners in need of a Savior). So here's my reminder to myself to be bold. After all, we DO have such a hope--the hope of the eternal life promised by Christ--and we are called to be VERY BOLD in sharing it.
The apostles didn't sit around thinking, "Hopefully not many people will hear me talking about Christ." They boldly went out and proclaimed his word--often under the threat of persecution and danger. The threats I face--someone not liking my Facebook post or unfollowing me or even leaving a hurtful comment--pale in comparison.
I pray every day that God will give me the strength to be bold in sharing my faith through my words, my actions, and my books. May he give you strength to be bold as well.
